UM Western Hope To Develop New Program After Donation
Farm and Ranch Management Takes A Leap In Education
The University of Montana Western located in Dillon, Montana is looking to offer a major of farm and ranch management.
They received a tremendous donation from AgWest Farm Credit of $500,000 to help with the development of the degree stating the importance of Montanan's to be well trained so farms and ranches in Montana can be successful.

“The launch of our new Farm and Ranch Management degree is a significant step forward for the University of Montana Western and the region we serve. Agriculture is at the heart of our community, and this program aligns perfectly with both the needs of the industry and the academic aspirations of our students,” said UMW Chancellor Michael Reid. “AgWest’s generous $500,000 gift allows us to build a strong foundation for this program, and we are excited to partner with them as we work toward establishing a $2 million endowment for faculty, ensuring long-term success and regional impact.”
The Future Of Farm And Ranch In Montana
The school currently offers a minor in Farm and Ranch under the Business Management degree. They are actively searching for faculty members and hope to raise additional funds before implementing the program for enrollment.
