Changes In Downtown Great Falls
If you have been downtown any time over the past few years you are aware of the shipping containers that were used as a "makeshift" sidewalk in front of the Rocky Mountain Building in Great Falls.
Due to a request from the city, the containers have now been removed from the sidewalk leaving the street without a sidewalk for the time being.
According to a press release from the City of Great Falls, the move was made to ensure pedestrian safety while construction is completed on the building on the corner of Central Avenue and 5th Street North.

The City Requested The Removal Of The Containers
The City of Great Falls requested Alluvion remove the shipping containers mainly from the number of complaints they had received regarding the shipping containers.
The building was purchased by Alluvion in 2019 with plans to renovate the building.

Alluvion Construction Expected To End March 2025
According to the Electric, the city planning director, Brock Cherry sent an email in October to the interim CEO of Alluvion regarding the removal of the shipping containers and the city announced on Friday November 22nd that the containers had been removed.
The sidewalk is going to remained closed on the stretch of Central Avenue until mid-March when construction is expected to be completed.
