When you look at the richest counties in Montana there is a significant amount of them that have a high average income. With inflation on the rise there seems to be a change in the number of people making enough money to afford to live in Montana. So I decided to look at the richest counties and see where Montana's money is really at.

Where Does Cascade County Rank?

I was surprised by the fact Cascade county does not even rank in the top 20 for the richest counties in Montana. With the cost of the average home in Great Falls being over $300,000 the number of people making enough to buy a home seems to be going up.

All of the counties on this list had an average income higher than $80 thousand a year. Meaning there are a significant number of people in those counties that make more than $80 k. The ranking also factored in the median income and population of each county. The most recent numbers show the highest ranking county had an average household income of $116,338 as of 2022 and 126,409 people as of 2023.
