Thanksgiving Travel Tips To Make It Quick And Painless
Thanksgiving Travel Can Be Hectic In Montana
Thanksgiving has always been one of the busiest times of year to travel. Flights can get delayed, weather can impact any sort of transportation and last minute changes can always throw a wrench in things.
The Travel Channel releases tips every year to help navigate the navigating this Thanksgiving but those aren't always Montana specific, so I adjusted them to be more Montana travel tips. If you are planning on traveling there are a few steps you should take to ensure you have a pain free travel experience. Whether flying to another state or driving across town there are things you can do to be prepared.
1. Plan Ahead
Take steps to make sure your plans are set. Buy the tickets, know your departure times and if there are any deadlines you will have to make. If you are driving plan for the weather. If there is going to be snow then make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination.

2. Forget the Bags
Unless you are planning on going somewhere for a week or more then you should be able to pack light. Flights can have extra fees for luggage and even additional carry-ons. Plus you never know what you will be bringing back with you so it is best just to pack light. Even in your vehicle you want to leave as much room as you can in case you are sent back with other goodies.
3. Choose The Best Day To Travel
The day before Thanksgiving is considered one of the busiest this time of year so consider going the Tuesday before. If you have to travel on Thanksgiving make sure you give yourself plenty of time. Know what time dinner will be and how long your travel will take.

4. Avoid The Headache
If flying is too much of a hassle or the weather is too much of a hindrance then do not put you or yourself in danger just to get to thanksgiving dinner. Stay home! Your family will understand. If you need an excuse just say the lady on the radio said you didn't have to go!
