Affordable Family Vacation Spot One State Over

A Cost Effective Theme Park Only Hours Away From Montana

When you have a large family like I do you have to focus on budget over name brand. And while I would love to take my kids to Disneyland it is just not in the cards for us any time soon.

If you haven't already been there is a much closer vacation spot where you can take your little ones and it wont totally break the bank.

A 5 to 6 hour Drive From Great Falls

My family took the drive to Athol, Idaho near Coeur D'Alene which is home to the theme park Silverwood. With over 70 rides and a full water park it was a weekend jam packed full of fun for me and my family.

We spent the day on roller coasters and kid rides for the little ones it felt like a smaller version of Disneyland and we didnt feel overwhelmed with how many people were there.

So Much To Do And See In Silverwood

The kids definitely had a blast with the kid rides, games and FOOD!

There were so many places to eat and while we were only there for one day we will definitely be planning another trip where we can check out all of the park including Boulder Beach, the water park side of Silverwood.

We didn't even get a chance to go to the Boulder Beach side but they included huge water slides, wave pools and a large lazy river.

They also switch things up in the fall and call it 'Scarywood" which I will be checking out one of these days!
