Parenting Insight: Kids At Concerts – A Montana Perspective
Montana concerts can have a variety of themes and genre's of music. While some are obviously more appropriate than others, I want to know what the etiquette is for bringing kids to a concert.
I recently went to see P!nk in Missoula and really enjoyed the show but the whole time I kept thinking how much one of my kids would have absolutely loved the show with the music the bright colors and fun carnival theme.

I have seen plenty of kids at concerts and sometimes thought to myself, "that poor kid they look miserable." So why is it that some parents bring kids to concerts? Is it a lack of other options for someone to watch their kid while they went? Or did the parent truly think their kid would enjoy the show and were just poorly mistaken.
I have also seen some kids at concerts that know every single word to the songs and are enjoying every bit of the concert. So my question is where do you draw the line?
I feel since the pandemic that there has been a big change in the way we enjoy concerts. I think more people are putting their phone away and really being in the moment to enjoy the performance. I think my anxiety of making sure my kid doesn't get lost in a crowd would be enough for me to not want to bring my kids until they are a little older but I have taken my teenager to a few concerts that he enjoyed (as much as a grumpy teenager can enjoy a night out with parents.)

At least if you plan on bringing a kid to a concert make sure (depending on their age) you invest in some head phones so they can still enjoy the music without having to worry about how loud the music is.
