I have lived in Montana my whole life and one thing that seems to happen every winter. The number of people who have not experienced winter in Montana before gets bigger and bigger every year and this year is no different. Just check out how many wrecks there were in Great Falls for the first six months of the year!!

New To Montana Winters? Read Closely!
People who have not experienced Winter here do not know how driving works. Yes it may feel like you are driving normal but the second you go to hit your breaks on an icy road like 10th Avenue South and you will be in a heap of trouble!
I heard it over and over growing up. Four wheel drive does not equal four wheel stop. Your vehicle might drive just fine but there is almost always a thin layer of ice on Montana roadways during Winter and it will not be visible for the most part.

So how do we fix this problem? Slow Down...
You will hear it time and time again but seriously, driving slow is the only way to not total your vehicle. Most people have dash cameras now front and back and if you are driving like a jack wagon then you will most likely be on candid camera. Not to mention the possibility of hurting someone else. Please don't be stupid and be safe. Don't forget there may be young drivers on the road as well.
