Here in Montana, we're pretty accustomed to drastic weather changes.

As the saying goes, if you don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes.

However, that first significant temperature dip after a long, hot summer always brings a bit of a shock to the system.

Well, friends, ready or not, that first shock to the system is on track to hit the Treasure State this week.

Montana Weather Forecast

A fairly decent area of low pressure is on track to begin moving off the Pacific Coast around midweek.

Temperatures will drop on Wednesday, and a few spotty showers will be possible as this system settles in.

However, Thursday and Friday look to have the biggest punch.

Rain and Cooler Temperatures

Widespread showers are expected on Thursday as this low-pressure area settles in over the Treasure State.

We will also experience a significant temperature drop, with daytime highs in the low 60s for most of north-central Montana.

Measurable snow is not out of the question, especially above 8000 feet.

Places like Glacier National Park will likely see a decent amount of snow from this system.

The temperature will struggle to rebound on Friday, possibly reaching the mid-60s for some areas in North Central Montana.
