Wanna Get Away For A Blissfully Enchanted Holiday?
If you're looking for an enchanted holiday season, like in fairy tales and movies, look no further. I've come across 5 towns, 2 right here in our state, that are a hop, skip, and a jump from us. Trips to discover has a not-to-miss, holiday magic list.
In Montana:
Of course, Whitefish. Nestled near Big Mountain, Whitefish has a wonderful, spellbinding appeal that harkens to Christmas cards, cocoa and general Christmas cheer.
West Yellowstone
Just not having it be another town on that side of the Mountains fills me with holly-jolly happiness. The article says West Yellowstone has an "idyllic winter". Ok, I'll go along with that, as long as we have 4-wheel drive. However, being surrounded by 3 National Forests and the entrance to Yellowstone National Park, you'd be hard-pressed to find a more beautiful place to get snowed-in for the holidays.
Wanna get out of Montana?
Jackson Wyoming
Home to 3 ski resorts, that alone should tell you Jackson would be a marvelous place to spend the holiday season.
Deadwood, South Dakota
Located in the gorgeous Black Hills of South Dakota, Deadwood is also a couple miles away from Terry Peak Ski Resort. This cozy mountain town would make a great holiday tradition. Honestly, if it was good enough for Wild Bill, I'd give Deadwood a try, just for the history!
McCall, Idaho
Nestled with near by Brundage Mountain with all kinds of skiing, McCall sees around 130 inches of snow a year and features lots of cross-country skiing as well and a festival in January. You're sure to have a white Christmas here.
And finally, because Christmas can't get here soon enough, here's how I imagine the North Pole in the Winter. It's just a little TOO cold for this Montana girl.
