Here's another food recall to compete for your attention.

What food's been recalled at Target?

The Food and Drug Administration has announced a voluntary recall of frozen burrito bowls sold at Target stores nationwide due to an undeclared ingredient that could lead to serious health issues in some consumers.

The product in question:  Good & Gather Brand Southwest Style Burrito Bowl Blend

The reason for the recall is because there may be shrimp included.  Since the shrimp wasn't meant to be part of the contents, it isn't listed as an ingredient and could cause severe allergic reactions if someone with a shellfish allergy eats the food.

What do I look for to see if my food is affected by the recall?

The recall is for 12 ounce bags with a Best if Used By Date of 8/24/2026, so that's the first thing to look at.

The UPC code is 085239931356.

Also, check the lot code on the back under the nutritional information.  You're looking for codes L5055-1, L5055-2, L5055-3, L5055-4, L5055-5, and L5055-6.

If your food matches all the criteria, it's recommended that, as usual, don't eat it (even if you aren't allergic) and to return it to Target for a full refund.

Has anyone gotten sick from this?

Thankfully, despite the affected bags being shipped out and on freezer shelves at Targets nationwide since mid-April, there haven't been any sicknesses (or worse) reported in connection with this product.  At least, none yet, and hopefully, it stays that way.
