Morning Show

Cory Wells

When I was 6 years old, I told my babysitter she was going to hear me on the radio someday… she finally believes me! On the air for over 35 years, I still love radio, the music, the listeners & the people I get to work with.

It’s been a pleasure meeting & working with some of my musical idols over the years, including Aerosmith, KISS, ZZ Top, Lynyrd Skynrd, The Doobie Brothers & others. I also enjoy working with The American Red Cross,  Big Brothers/Big Sisters, The Great Falls Library & MT Special Olympics to name a few.

In my spare time, you can find me playing drums in Various local bands on weekends, hanging out in The Highwood Mountains, riding my motorbike, playing Frisbee or cruisin’ around in my 1970 Chevelle wagon with the radio up loud!

Catch Cory weekdays 6-10am on KOOL 92-9!

Midday Show

JJ QUINN

I’m a fourth generation Montanan, born in Libby and raised in Missoula. I’m a University of Montana alumni, where I studied Journalism/R-TV production, History and vocal performance (yes, I can sing!) I have been on the radio in my hometown for 25 years now.  In fact, it will be 25 years on my birthday in 2017!  Lucky me!

I like pretty much every type of music out there and I’ve always loved radio. I used to call and bother the dj’s to play my favorite songs. And, I would listen late at night to whatever stations I could pick up, recording them on my cassette recorder and imagining that one day I’d be on the radio as well.  The best thing about it for me is laughing every day! Also, sharing information in the form of news and trivia. I love the “community” of a radio audience, and getting to know people and helping people through that community. Most of all I enjoy laughing, and making other people laugh.  The music is like icing on the cake.  It’s really the best job ever and I’m grateful for it!

Besides radio, I love to read and write essays and poems, I enjoy playing the piano, watching the Denver Broncos and San Francisco Giants, and I enjoy being outside in beautiful Montana! I appreciate a tasty beer and there are so many good ones to choose from!   And of course, I love spending time with the Milkman and our family and friends that includes four dogs (two large, two small) and a bird.

Afternoon Show

Steve Keller lives to entertain.

By the age of 18, Steve was a singer and multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, arranger, and producer for himself and full bands.  After graduation Steve chose radio broadcasting.  He says it was the love of music, and the craft of producing great radio ads that entertain AND sell.  In his spare time, Steve plays and sings in the Steve Keller Band, The Thrillbillies, and 80’s tribute band Metal Steel.  Steve is the father of 4 children, several grandchildren, and loves time with his extended family and friends.

Night Show

Robert Kruithoff a.k.a. Big Rob K is KOOL 92.9’s Night Guy.

When I was in the 4th grade, my grandparents bought me an AM/FM clock radio.  I was fascinated with the fact that I could get K-TWO out of Salt Lake City, or XTRA from Tijuana, or KLZ-Rock AM all the way from Texas.  My friend Tim’s older brother worked at KBOZ in Bozeman and took us out to the radio station one day.  After seeing the place where broadcasts originated from, I was hooked!  After high school, I tried college first, but that didn’t work out,  so I got my first radio job at KAAK/K99 in October of 1989.  I started the way many did back in the last century, board operating basketball games and Casey’s Top 40, and spinning real, vinyl 45’s on turntables, while honing my on-air skills during the overnights.   After hearing air checks of some of the big time DJ’s of the era, I knew I wanted to go big time.  In order to go big, you got to get out of Great Falls.  So I joined the Army to get out of dodge.  After completing jump school at the US Army Airborne school at Ft Benning, GA, I ended up at Ft Bragg, NC jumping out of airplanes for a living.  Once I was done putting my knees in the breeze it was back to radio.   I worked weekends at WDCG/G105 in Raleigh, NC before I got out of the Army.  Then I worked nights at WRCQ/Rock 103.5, Fayetteville, Afternoons at WSRV/Star 92.9 in Dover, and WSTW/Wilmington.  Then my dreams came true, and my hard work paid off,  and I ended up as the Assistant Production Director of WWZZ/WWVZ, Z104 in Washington DC. In 2000, I left radio to go back to college, and moved my family back to Great Falls in 2002.  I started calling sports for the Central Montana Radio Network a year ago, and was then subsequently invited to be your Night Guy on KOOL 92.9.

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 28 years.  I have 2 grown kids, 3 daschunds, and 10 guitars, plus I do professional photography.  I love playing the KOOLest music on the radio and bringing you Montana’s Classic Hits and Oldies 5 nights a week on KOOL 92.9
