According to a study by Coupon Birds, teachers are spending a lot of money getting their classrooms ready for the new school year.

On average this report shows teachers spending around $915 per year on supplies out of their own pocket and Montana is just short of the average spending $733 a year.

Teachers in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Arizona spent the most on classroom items.

What Are Montana Teachers Buying Out Of Pocket?

School supplies include things like pencils, markers and tissues but there are still necessities that are not included. See what teachers are buying out of pocket.

  • Snacks
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • First Aid Supplies

The study also noted that around 26% of teachers had to get a second job just to help afford some of the items necessary for their classrooms.
