Registration Open for 2023 ‘Montana’s Next Generation’ Conference
The 2023 Montana's Next Generation Conference will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, at Shelby High School, and registration is now open.
The event will be co-hosted by MSU Extension and the Native American Community Development Corporation Financial Services. The news release from MSU Extension says there will be over 36 workshops for attendees to choose from, covering a variety of topics for both beginning and experienced producers.
Some of the topics include:
- Grain bin preparation and problems to watch for
- Livestock Nutrition
- Livestock Marketing
- Social Media Marketing
- Recordkeeping - both Financial and Production
- Estate and retirement planning
- USDA programs
- Insurance - General Liability, Workman's Comp and Crop Insurance
Jason Laird with the Montana Wheat and Barley Committee, who can also be heard on Max Country 94.5, will be there, doing a presentation on the grain industry and the issues ahead.

Sign-in will begin at 8am on the 28th, and the conference will begin at 8:30am. Each hour, attendees will choose one of six workshops to attend.
Attending the conference will satisfy the Farm Service Agency's requirements for borrower, production and financial management training.
Paper registration forms can be found at your local MSU Extension office, or you can register online here. Early registration ends on Jan 16th, and the final deadline is Jan 23rd.
