I remember my first Black Friday, right around 1999/2000. It was NUTS going anywhere in town at around midnight, the people and parking were CRAZY, but the bargains were real. Every year after that, it seemed like the bargains were more gimmicks and the items repeated every year.

But it was sure kind of fun, and really cost-effective, while it lasted.

The Pandemic Hit And Priorities Were Reset

I do think it's nice that while some of the cooler things in the pandemic seem to be gone, like adult beverage delivery to your home, some of the best stuff remains. Most notably for me, grocery delivery, people calling in sick when they're sick, and businesses closing on the holidays.
