Mark your calendars, friends, because the city of Great Falls Utility Department will switch to a new billing software on May 22.

The change is expected to last until June 3rd.

What To Expect

During this time, Great Falls City staff cannot view information or process transactions until the new system is up and running.

The old system must be completely shut down to convert all the data and launch the new system.

If all goes as planned, the new billing system, New World, will be up and running by June 3rd.

Changes To Utility Billing In Great Falls

According to city staff, your monthly billing statement will look exactly the same; however, the account numbers will change.

Evidently, the first six digits will stay the same, but any numbers after the dash will be dropped and replaced.

In order to continue paying, customers must replace the old account numbers with the new ones. If they don't, payments will likely be delayed or not applied.

Online & Phone Utility Payments In Great Falls

Online payments and phone payments are processed through a third-party vendor called Paymentus.

Online payments and phone payments made before 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, will be applied to the current system.

After May 21, 2024, online payments and phone payments will be disabled and will most likely be down for about 30 days while Paymentus is integrated with New World.

Any payments made after Tuesday, May 21, will be postponed and manually entered into the new system starting June 3rd, 2024.

This includes cash, checks, and bill pay payments.
