Some people have no shame, some people have too much time on their hands, and then there are people who are a little bit of both column A and column B. That's the case right now as Great Falls police are calling on the public for help for a case of theft that took place at two schools this past Monday (9/29).

And whoever is behind it, knew exactly what they were doing.

Great Falls police department shared a post calling on the public to help identifying two individuals behind the theft of tipi/lodges from Chief Joseph and Loy Elementary Schools.

"In the attached video, the suspects appear to be a male and female but, they've gone to such effort to conceal their identities, it's hard to tell," Great Falls police said in their post.

"The tipi/lodges are both stamped 'Property of Great Falls Public Schools.'"

Why Would Someone Steal The Tipis?

Now, if you're like me you're probably wondering what someone would want with the tipi/lodges. According to the post from Great Falls police, Great Falls Public Schools Indigenous Education for All Instructional Coach Jordan Lankford says the tipis/lodges are not only "quite expensive," but also valuable to the community.

"The tipi/lodges are set up at all 21 school buildings for the students' education and the enjoyment of our community,"  Lankford said.

"A lot of effort and hard work goes in to ensuring all of the buildings have the tipi/lodges. Throughout the fall months, all GFPS students learn about the tipi/lodges and the distinct cultural heritages of our American Indian community."

Authorities say if you have any information on the identities of the people responsible or on the whereabouts of the tipis to contact them with info at 406-268-6517 or to share your info at P3TIPS.com.
