Right now, it's probably common knowledge that Old Chicago will open its doors in Great Falls sooner rather than later.

The new Old Chicago location will be in the old Boston's restaurant, which closed on November 11th after 16 years in business.

Personally, I'm pretty excited that yet another new restaurant is opening its doors in Great Falls.

It's nice to see new things coming to town, providing more variety in dining options.

Folks always complain that there's nothing in Great Falls, which couldn't be farther from the truth.

Bostons Closed In Great Falls

After closing its doors, the old Boston's location has undergone extensive renovations to accommodate the needs of Old Chicago.

Johnson Restaurant Group, which purchased the location, offered all longtime Boston employees jobs at the new Old Chicago restaurant.

Operating primarily from Wyoming, Johnson's company has three Old Chicago restaurants in Montana and one in South Dakota.

Old Chicago In Great Falls

From everything I've heard, the new Old Chicago restaurant should open relatively soon.

Previous news reports have indicated that the company anticipated the restaurant opening in late summer of 2024.

I drove by to check out the progress, and they are definitely still working on the facility.

There were dumpsters out front and what appeared to be new tables and chairs.

Here we are in late summer 2024, so I anticipate they will be opening soon!
