2 Men Sentenced for Botched Montana Home Invasion That Left 1 Dead

Two men who were a part of a botched home invasion robbery were sentenced to prison yesterday according to officials and man, the crime itself is about as horrible as it gets.

That said, I feel like the punishments are a little... I don't know... light? Let's see if you think I'm crazy for thinking that.

Botched Home Invasion Leaves One Dead

Levi Terrance Olson, Brandon Lee Weaselboy, and Gordon Denny along with "the eventual victim", planned to storm into a home on the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation and steal some drugs as court documents allege.

Apparently, none of the home invaders expected anyone to be home and when they kicked the front door down to begin their robbery, a shootout broke out.

While Olson and Weaselboy ran out the front of the house, Denny made his way out back. The fourth, the victim, was "later found dead in the yard" from a gunshot wound.

Box Elder Home Invaders Sentenced

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Montana, Denny was sentenced to two years and seven months back in June of this year for his role as a conspirator.

As for Olson and Weaselboy, they both pleaded guilty to attempted robbery and involuntary manslaughter. Olson received nine years and three months in prison while Weaselboy received ten years in prison. Both will also have three years of supervised release following their prison term.

Now, call me crazy... but doesn't that seem a little light given the entire thing got someone killed?

Never mind the fact that they forced their way into someone's home, armed and engaging in a shootout... can you imagine how horrifying that is?

And look, I get the person that got killed was technically a criminal and involved in the conspiracy but... that person lost their life. Ten years, nine years, and two years for following through on a plan that got someone killed just seems a little light to me.
