A spring snow might make you sad that winter is still hanging around, but for kids (and kids at heart) it's the best. That's because this snow is the best kind of snow when it comes to building a snowman. So when my daughter asked if we could build a snowman I jumped at the chance.

Not only does this snow make great snowmen, it makes great snowballs, which is the building block (or ball) of your snowman.

Alright now we've got our base, with a few twigs and leaves to strengthen the whole thing.

Uh-Oh I may have overestimated how big my base was and made the middle too big. I also don't know if I can even lift it up there. It's time "Improvise, Adapt And Overcome."

Ok, so now we have one big block of snow, what can we do with this?

I guess we just add a smaller ball on the top? Can you guess where this is going to end up?

That's right we're building the Flathead Lake Monster. No I'm just kidding, but it does kind of look like it doesn't it?

I think you can tell what it is now.  If there is one thing a little girl loves more than building snowmen, it's building snow-unicorns.

We added the mane and tail along with some hooves and a few details in the horn.

I think we did a pretty good job, but honestly it's not "magical" enough.

Now that is a magical snow-unicorn.

My daughter might forget that we ever did this, and in a few days the snow will melt into a puddle of indistinguishable colors, but thanks to these pictures and this article, our snow-unicorn will live forever!
