Montana Is Home To Two of America's Most Popular National Parks

The end of National Park Week comes this Sunday, and Montana has a couple of pretty popular national parks that the rest of the country has apparently noticed.

We've long known we've got two of the most beautiful national parks around, but they're not just beautiful. New research shows that Montana's national parks are also among the most searched in the country.

Millions of Google Searches Put Montana National Parks in the Spotlight

The study, compiled by airport transportation company Hoppa, looked at Google search data from July 2025 through June 2026 to see which national parks were getting the most attention around the country.

Glacier National Park had more than 5.3 million Google searches during that time, making it the fourth most searched national park in America.

Only three parks were searched more often: Yellowstone, Grand Canyon and Zion.

And it wasn't even close. Yellowstone National Park was way out in front with more than 7.5 million searches.

Glacier and Yellowstone Have Plenty to Keep Visitors Coming Back

It's pretty amazing that we've got two of the top four national parks right in our backyard.

Glacier is obviously known for Going-to-the-Sun Road, huge mountain views, turquoise lakes and the kind of scenery that makes you stop and stand in awe of something so majestic.

Yellowstone, which was the very first national park, is home to Old Faithful, hot springs, bison, grizzly bears and enough geothermal weirdness to keep people fascinated all these years later.

The study also found that searches for "best-rated national parks" have increased 27% over the past three months, which suggests people are getting pretty serious about planning their next outdoor adventure.

With two of the most popular national parks in the country right here, it's just another reason Montana deserves to be called "The Last Best Place".
