Another Day, Another Scam In Montana

Growing up, I was taught to work hard to be kind and respectful, and good things will come your way.

Sadly, some people didn't have those values instilled in them and instead go around scamming people out of their hard earned money.

Be Aware Of This Holiday Scam

Do you remember the old days when you would order something and you would have no idea when it would show up to your door?

Well, these days it's easy to track your package either online or even with updates via text messages.

Scammers love using these new forms of technology to scam innocent and less tech-savvy individuals who might think the message they received is legit.

Package Delivery Text Scam

The app NextDoor allows people in Montana to connect to their neighbors in their neighborhood, allowing them to communicate along with buying and selling from each other.

Well, one user commented that she had received a text message saying there was a package for her that was unable to be delivered, but if she just paid $3.30, they would attempt another delivery.

While that seems like small potatoes, you know that's not all they'll take if you should respond; they'll drain your entire bank account if they can.

So what should you do to stop these scammers? Forward the message to the number 7726. AT&T says once you share all the necessary information with their team, including the originating number and message content, they'll be able to start to take action against these scammers.

This isn't the only scam to look out for in Montana, as you'll see in the gallery below.👇
