New Directors Auditioning for Great Falls Symphony
Earlier this year, it was announced that Grant Harville would step down as the director of the Great Falls Symphony after eight years at the podium.
Who's replacing him?
The short answer is: that hasn't really been decided yet. Over the last few months, the Board of Directors has narrowed it down from over two hundred applicants to just six finalists.
As a result, the overarching theme for the upcoming season is "The Search".
When the Symphony's concert season begins next month, each finalist will conduct one concert, which basically acts as an audition for the job.
When and Where?
The first concert of "The Search" is October 4th, and will be held at the Mansfield Center Theater as usual. Hopefully, the renovations will be done by then.

As an added treat, former GF Symphony conductor and current chair of the Great Falls School Board Gordon Johnson will be making a return to the podium and conducting a free Halloween concert.
But that's not all!
In addition to the main Symphony concerts, there are also concerts by the Youth Orchestra and both Chamber groups (the Cascade Quartet and Chinook Winds). For a full listing of all the concerts under the Great Falls Symphony umbrella, click here.
And don't forget the Great Falls Community Concert Association. As usual, they have six shows of their own they'll be putting on, including the Great Falls Community Jazz Band and country singer Trevor Panczak.
So get your tickets now, because it's looking to be another great concert season here in Great Falls!
