Fall is here, along with a new school year, and with that comes the return of cold and flu season.  Which means it is time for flu clinics to start popping up.

Wasn't there something in the news this summer about the flu shot?

Despite the furor earlier this year over the CDC's decisions regarding vaccinations, they are still recommending everyone over the age of six months get a flu shot.

Where can I get the flu shot in Great Falls?

Cascade County's City-County Health Department has several clinics already lined up.  For all of these, valid ID and proof of insurance are needed.

  • Saturday, Sept. 27th - CCHD (115 4th Street South) from 9a-2p
  • Tuesday, Sept. 30th - MT Expopark from 9a-2p
  • Friday, Oct. 3rd - Fire Station #1 (105 9th Street South) from 2-5p
  • Friday, Oct. 10th - Fire Station #2 (731 6th Street NW) from 2-5p
  • Saturday, Oct. 11th - CCHD from 9a-2p
  • Friday, Oct. 17th - Fire Station #3 (3325 Central Avenue) from 2-5p
  • Friday, Oct. 24th - Fire Station #4 (1800 Fox Farm Road) from 2-5p

If I hear about any other clinics in the Cascade County area, I will update the list.

And of course, if you can't make it to any of these clinics, the flu shot is also available at pharmacies like Walgreens and CVS, among others.

If you're a veteran, you can also get yours through the VA, either as part of a regular appointment or the clinics the Montana VA will be doing on Tuesday, October 7th at locations across the state.

So please, seriously consider getting the flu shot this fall.
